Biology Amoeba Sisters: Ep 9

Biological Levels in Biology: The World Tour

Whether Bacterium, Fungus, Protist, or Animal, if it’s alive it is made of one or more cells.
Cells are the first level (the most basic living level).

Cells can become tissue.

Tissues make organs (although organs are not always made up of tissue). The heart is an organ.

Organ systems: comprised of many different organs. For example, the colon and small intestine are part of the Digestive System. The Digestive System is an Organ System.

Organisms: all life forms such as humans, animals, fungi, etc…

Population: a type of life form breeds to become a population.

Community: different populations living together.

Ecosystem: a biological community of interacting organisms and their physical environment.

Biome: categories of ecosystems found in different locations. For example, a desert biome or a rainforest biome.

Biosphere: the sum of all biomes; all the areas where organisms live.

Definitions:

Abiotic: A means without and BIO means life: without life, non-living. For example, a rock is considered non-living because it doesn’t have any cells.

That’s all for the Amoeba Sister Ep 2! Hope you learned something, and have a wonderful day. God bless! <3
