What is love?
According to Audrey Rindlisbacher, love is an action: we choose to love.
What does it mean to love God?
It means to honor and follow his commands.
What does it mean to love yourself?
We love ourselves by meeting our physical needs (eating healthy, keeping good personal hygiene, getting enough sleep), our emotional needs (relationships, family, friends…), and our spiritual needs (prayer, going to church, etc…).
Why are loving God, yourself, and your neighbors the greatest commandments?
The more you love yourself, the more you can love God, and the more you love God, the more you want to love your neighbor. You don’t have to like your neighbors but you do have to love them.
Why are those commandments the foundation of our society and its ethics?
The commandments, love God, love yourself, and love your neighbor are a great foundation because without love, everyone would be mean and mad at each other all the time.
